Northern Region and 52 Squash Club reserves the right to move or cancel this event should there be the need due to the Covid-19 pandemic or other unforeseen circumstances. We will need to follow the Centre's Covid-19 Safe Plan.

This is the 4th Northern Region Junior Qualifier for 2021. It is a closed silver Tournament and will be hosted at Squash 52 Mackay, as a compulsory event.

Players need to compete in both compulsory tournaments in Cairns and Mackay and either Ingham or Townsville tournaments to be eligible for selection on the Northern Region Redbacks team, which will compete in the Queensland regional teams event at the 2021 Queensland Junior Championships (QJC).

Games may be scheduled for Friday evening for available players. Otherwise players are expected to be available between 8:30 am and 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday except with prior approval.

The Mackay Junior Squash Championships will commence at 8.30am sharp on both days. Players are to be present and checked in with Tournament Control 30 MINUTES before the scheduled time of their match. Game scheduling is an estimate of game times. Please be aware we will be "following on".

The tournament promises to be a fun event for all junior players.

Saturday Night Dinner.
Venue: Squash 52, 52 Brisbane Street, Mackay. There are various take away stores in walking distance. Some chairs will be provided. If you have a camping chair feel free to bring one along. Time: 5.30pm. Additionally there are showers available at the courts.

This Northern Region Tournament include:
1) Aged Events.
2) Doubles (for experienced Players only as practice for the QJC teams event).
3) Novice Events

ENTRY FEES:
TO BE PAID ON SATURDAY DURING CHECK IN
Aged Entry Fee - $55 (1 event) or $65 (2 events)
Doubles (for experienced Players only for practice for the QJC team event) - $10 per player
Graded (Novice) $20 per player
3 Matches minimum.

PAYMENT IN CASH ON THE FIRST DAY OF COMPETITION PRIOR TO PLAYING, AT CHECKIN.

PLEASE NOTE:
At each NR junior tournament a portion of the nomination fees paid to the Northern Region for the purpose of subsidising coaches to attend the QJC is collected from each player; $10 age events, $5 graded events
Additionally all Northern Region Junior Qualifier Events must not be sanctioned by Squash Queensland and as such a $5 fee is also collected per player and paid to Squash Queensland. This fee too is included in the nomination fee.

EYEWARE
Protective Eyewear, (Regulation 13 - Protective Eyewear Policy, Squash Australia).
"Any Australian player who satisfies the Squash Australia age eligibility for 19 years and all younger age groups is required to wear eyewear when playing in domestic or international tournaments or competitions"
Doubles: "Protective eyewear must be worn by all players (junior or senior) when playing in doubles competition / tournaments"

MOUTH GUARD - Must be worn by all u13 players during the doubles.
